Care Guide
After Receiving Jacket in Mail
Prep the jacket
Zip all zippers, close Velcro tabs, and loosen drawcords.
Do not add dryer sheets or fabric softener.
Tumble dry
Place the jacket alone in the dryer.
Use low heat or delicate for 10 to 15 minutes.
This removes shipping wrinkles and reactivates the DWR water repellent.
Hang to finish
Remove immediately and hang on a wide hanger in a dry, ventilated room.
Let it cool and air out fully before wearing or storing.
Daily Cleaning, Maintenance, and Storage
Cleaning frequency
Clean only when necessary, usually 1 to 2 times per year.
After heavy outdoor use, clean more often.
Over cleaning reduces the jacket’s lifespan.
Before cleaning
Use a professional detergent and a soft bristle brush for technical jackets.
Close all zippers and Velcro tabs, and loosen drawcords.
Washing
Lay the jacket flat in a basin.
Wet soiled areas with water no hotter than 40°C or 104°F.
For stains, use a sponge or soft brush with a professional cleaner or neutral detergent.
Scrub gently and rinse until the water runs clear.
Drying
Do not wring the jacket.
Lay it flat, zip everything, and air dry in a shaded, ventilated area.
Avoid direct sunlight or high heat.
Maintenance and Waterproofing
When the DWR finish wears off, the surface may feel damp even though the membrane is still waterproof.
To restore water repellency, apply a dedicated cleaner and waterproofing product.
We recommend NikWax Hardshell Cleaner and Waterproofer or a similar product.
Storage
At home
Hang on a wide hanger.
Avoid long term folding since it stresses adhesive seams.
Keep away from chemicals like mothballs or moisture absorbers.
For travel
Fold the jacket into its hood pocket to limit compression and protect the hood’s shape.
